Keeping your teeth white, however, is a challenge when there are so many things that can discolour them. Your teeth may be yellowed or stained by things such as:
If you want to reverse the effects of discoloured teeth safely, then the best way is to visit a Walsall dentist for professional teeth whitening.
At Allsopp Dental, we use Boutique Whitening, a professional whitening system that delivers superior results.
Boutique Whitening is only available in dental offices. We offer this system because it will fit in conveniently with your lifestyle and gives you more control over your teeth whitening experience.
Getting started is easy. After a dental checkup and consultation, we will take ‘before’ pictures of your teeth and then scan your teeth to create the bespoke bleaching trays. We will send your scans to the Boutique Whitening laboratory where the company will create your trays and send them to us.
Next, we will ask you whether you prefer to whiten your teeth during the day or overnight, and talk about the results you hope to achieve.
Based upon your teeth whitening goals, we will provide you with a whitening kit and instructions for applying the gel in your whitening tray.
We have two whitening kits available:
Once you start whitening, you should notice a difference in tooth colour within just a few days. It will take about three weeks to achieve optimal results. When your treatment is done, we will take ‘after’ photos to help you document the change.
If you would like to continue your treatment with periodic whitening touch-ups, you can purchase a top-up kit for just £75.
There are many teeth whitening treatments out there, but not all of them are both safe and effective. If you have your teeth whitened by someone who is not a dental professional, then there is a risk of serious side-effects and complications.
Some professional whitening treatments involve the use of special lights or lasers, but these only achieve temporary dramatic results by drying out teeth. At Allsopp Dental, we prefer the gentle yet effective method of take-home whitening trays by Boutique Whitening.
When you choose Boutique Whitening at Allsopp & Associates Dental Practice, you can be sure of getting a whiter smile safely since your treatment will be directed by a trusted dental professional.
Yes, a whiter and brighter smile is possible, and we are ready to show you how!
In fact, Allsopp Dental is a trusted dental care provider in the Sutton Coldfield, Aldridge and Lichfield area because of our expertise in a range of treatments including orthodontics and dental implants. Dr Jonathan Allsopp is a Specialist Orthodontist, and both he and Dr Mandeep Soorae have extensive experience in placing implants.
Bleaching gel contains hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These agents seep into the microscopic pores on your tooth enamel and begin a process called ‘oxidation.’ This chemical breakdown releases tiny bubbles of oxygen and this breaks up stain and pigments that are embedded deep inside your teeth. Teeth bleaching gel will not lighten crowns and bridges because they are not porous like tooth enamel.
Not everyone experiences sensitivity when whitening their teeth. If you are sensitive after bleaching your teeth, our Allsopp Dental team can give you some advice to make your treatment more comfortable until your teeth adjust.
After whitening, your natural tooth colour will be permanently lightened, but new stains can settle in and discolour your teeth again. To make the effects of your bleaching treatment last as long as possible, avoid food and drink that can stain your teeth. Brush and floss daily, schedule regular dental cleanings and ask us about maintaining your bright smile with a top-up kit.
Whitening works well for almost anyone, but you should postpone the treatment if you have any active dental disease. Bleaching gel can irritate sore gums and decayed teeth, so treat problems like gum disease and cavities before you whiten your teeth.
When you try DIY teeth whitening or have your teeth bleached by someone who is not a dental professional, you have a higher risk of experiencing adverse effects. Only a dentist knows what to look for when assessing your teeth to determine whether whitening is safe for you. Additionally, a dentist knows exactly which products are the most effective and can legally prescribe them in safe amounts.
We are ready to help. Dental anxiety is a very common issue, but it does not have to prevent you from getting the treatment you need. We can provide you with gentle dental sedation on-site at our practice to help you relax during your treatment.
